I had an opportunity to meet Luyton Driman, where we travelled together upto Madrid (Spain) in September 2005. It was during this long travel (because of flight cancellation in Johannesburg)that we had a nice chat about his expertise in export business. I was privileged to get a copy of his book on "Trading in Africa" during this time. I have communicated with my friends in Ethiopia, who are in export business, about the book and even tried to link them with him here in South Africa. I am sure that his expertise in doing business in Africa is an invaluable asset and that many emerging business men and women can benefit from his experience.

"Hi there, having read your book on and off, I have now come across page where you say you have a friend who runs a garbage collection business in Luanda. Well, garbage collection is a nice lead up to landfill sites, which can be nicely financed, creating all kinds of benefits to the community and also to those that are able to engineer their funding thereof. Your book does have the tone of some one who has done it by the way, and not what I normally see coming from SA, which are generally people that are just sorry they landed in town and cannot wait to get out of here."

"I have just purchased your book and read it through in one night. I really enjoyed it and we are currently purchasing 2 more copies for the company. Your book is great and I think it is providing us with some new ideas, but we would love you to give us some personal advice in the context of our specific products. We have a small number of African channels where they have contacted us directly in the past, but would like to actively increase this."

"I listened to your talk on 'Cape Talk/702' and found it very interesting, so interesting that I bought and read your book. I really enjoyed reading your book and found it very insight full; African Politics was one of my favourite subjects when I was at varsity.

"Since I last wrote to you I did manage to get your book. I've devoured it and Luyton, it's very, very good. It's not that I'm surprised, I'm just very impressed for many reasons. 'Cheers' to you. It's easy reading, easy on the eyes, It's well thought out and laid out. It's personal, passionate, and best of all - it's CLEAR! Much like yourself I imagine since this is your baby. Most books like this force one to trudge through the muck of the authors ego. Yours is clean, crisp, precise, fresh and overflowing with information that you can't even begin to put a price on. It's an exquisite tool for the target audience. You deserve all the success that you achieve. BRAVO!"

I look forward tocollborate with you on any potential business opportunities in Southern Africa. Please let's keep in touch and I hope we will meet again soon."

"Hullo Luyton, just been looking again at the book (having been away for nearly all the time since I saw you in early June). A note to say again, Well done. But I can say more than that, as the book is not only extant, it is also put together very well. You as writer have covered your territory clearly and readable, effectively conveying the benefits of your experience. Moreover all the postwriting elements that make a book good - the editing and design and proof-reading and printing and binding - have the smack of class about them. So well done. I'd love to know from time to time what sorts of reviews / responses / feedback comes up. And I shall look forward to the day that you drop me a line to say you've done a new edition."
